375th Celebrations

375th Event - King and Queen of Sweden
On Saturday, May 11th, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden – along with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland, The Honorable Mr. Eero Heinäluoma – joined the descendants of Swedes and Finns, and with all Delawareans, to celebrate the 375th Anniversary of the founding of the New Sweden colony in what is now Wilmington, and to commemorate the 375th birthday of the City of Wilmington, itself.

The Kalmar Nyckel Foundation was proud to be an integral part of this event and many other festivities throughout 2013 that celebrate the region's heritage.
