“An Excellent Sea-Boat:” Darwin’s Expedition Aboard HMS Beagle
The captain of our Kalmar Nyckel along with the ship’s noted naturalist – otherwise known as the remarkable husband-and-wife team of Lauren Morgens and Matthew Sarver – will open the Foundation’s 2016 Lecture Series with a talk about Darwin and the Beagle on Sunday, February 21st.
Entitled “‘An Excellent Sea-Boat:’ Darwin’s Expedition Aboard HMS Beagle,” the talk will be held at our new Copeland Maritime Center and provide fresh insights about this most famous of scientific voyages. Join the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation’s own Captain Morgens and Scientist Sarver to learn more about Darwin’s “revolutionary” round-the-world voyage, the British Admiralty’s five-year surveying expedition that changed science and the way we understand our world. Don’t miss this exciting “sailing and science” event.
Reservations are required. Seating is limited.
