Directions to Dravo Plaza in Wilmington, DE

From North

  • Take I-95 South to Wilmington, Delaware--get in right-hand lane.
  • Take Exit 6 (Fourth Street/Martin Luther King Boulevard).
  • Make left onto Martin Luther King Boulevard.
  • Stay in right-hand lane following signs that say Shipyard Shops.
  • Make right onto S. Madison Street (at sign Bank One Center, Stadium & Outlets, Riverfront).
  • Go about a mile and look for large, brightly colored cranes and the Kalmar Nyckel on the left.
  • Park in lot for Timothy's Restaurant (where ship is docked) or lot for Bank One Center.

From South

  • Take I-95 North to Wilmington, Delaware--get in right-hand lane.
  • Take Exit 6 (Martin Luther King Boulevard/Maryland Avenue).
  • Make right onto Martin Luther King Boulevard.
  • Stay in right-hand lane following signs that say Shipyard Shops.
  • Make right onto S. Madison Street (at sign Bank One Center, Stadium & Outlets, Riverfront).
  • Go about a mile and look for large, brightly colored cranes and the Kalmar Nyckel on the left.

Directions to Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal - Public Pier

From North

  • Take I-95 South from Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Take Exit 162 (Route 1 South).
  • Make left onto Route 9 South (Savannah Road).
  • Turn right onto Cape Henlopen Drive.
  • Follow signs that say Cape May-Lewes Ferry.
  • Kalmar Nyckel docks to the right of the Ferry.

Directions to Town Dock in Lewes, DE

From North

  • Take I-95 from Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Take Exit 162 (Route 1 South).
  • Make left onto Route 9 South (Savannah Road).
  • Make left onto Front Street.
  • Kalmar Nyckel docks on the right at the Town Dock.

Directions to the Kalmar Nyckel in Provincetown, Ma

In Provincetown Massachusetts

  • The ship is located at the end of Macmillan Pier off Commercial Street.
  • Adjacent to the Boston Provincetown High Speed Ferry.
  • Just down from the Wyhdah Pirate Museum.

Directions to the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard and Seventh Street Peninsula

From North of Wilmington, DE

  • Take I-95 South to Exit #6 (M.L.King, Jr Blvd & Fourth Street).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Fourth Street.
  • Travel across town (just over a mile) to the railroad overpass.
  • Pass underneath the tracks and make an immediate left onto Swedes Landing Road. (If you go over the bridge over the Christina River, you've gone too far).
  • At the end of the road, make a right onto E. Seventh Street. Look for the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard on your right.

From South of Wilmington, DE

  • Take I-95 North to Exit #6 (M.L.King, Jr Blvd & Fourth Street).
  • At the base of the exit ramp continue straight to the third light (W. Fourth Street, there's a sign on the corner for the Kalmar Nyckel).
  • Turn right onto W. Fourth Street and travel across town (just over a mile) to the railroad overpass.
  • Pass underneath the tracks and make an immediate left onto Swedes Landing Road. (If you go over the bridge over the Christina River, you've gone too far).
  • At the end of the road, make a right onto E. Seventh Street. Look for the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard on your right.

Directions to Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park

From North of Wilmington, DE

  • Take I-95 South to Exit #6 (M.L.King, Jr Blvd & Fourth Street).
  • Go to the fourth light and turn left onto M.L.King, Jr Blvd.
  • Turn right onto S. Market Street.
  • Turn left into parking lot at the first light.

From South of Wilmington, DE

  • Take I-95 North to Exit #6 (M.L.King, Jr Blvd & Fourth Street).
  • At the base of the exit ramp, turn right onto Maryland Avenue.
  • Follow Maryland Avenue and turn right onto M.L.King, Jr Blvd.
  • Turn right onto S. Market Street.
  • Turn left into parking lot at the first light.

Directions to Old New Castle, DE

From North

  • Take I-95 South from Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Take Basin Road New Castle - Route 141 exit.
  • Go couple miles and turn left onto Route 273.
  • Go over railroad tracks and bear right into Historic New Castle (Delaware Street).
  • Drive to the river-boat is docked at right (in front of Battery Park).
  • Parking on street or in lot at Third and South Streets.

From South

  • Take I-95 North from south of New Castle, Delaware.
  • Take New Castle Basin Road - Route 141 exit.
  • Keep straight and turn right onto Route 141/Basin Road at light.
  • Go couple miles and turn left onto Route 273.
  • Go over railroad tracks and bear right into Historic New Castle (Delaware Street).
  • Drive to the river-boat is docked at right (in front of Battery Park).
  • Parking on street or in lot at Third and South Streets.

Other Kalmar Nyckel Ports of Call

The Kalmar Nyckel may dock at any deepwater port along the Eastern Seaboard, Delaware Bay or Christina River. Lewes, New Castle, Philadelphia, Wilmington, New York, Boston, Charleston, St. Michael's, Chesterown, Hull and Martha's Vineyard are historic Ports of Call.

Departure Times
Daily departure times vary and are scheduled according to the tides at each specific port. Call us for schedule details: 1.888.783-SAIL (7245).

Boarding Times
Please arrive 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure time in order to check in and board the ship.

Tickets and Reservations
Advance reservations for public sails are recommended for all underway, group sails and events. Any unreserved spaces will be sold up to departure time. Unclaimed reserved spaces may be resold 15 minutes prior to the scheduled sail. Call our reservation line at 1.888.783-SAIL (7245).

Payments
Cash, checks, traveler's checks and major credit cards are accepted.

Cancellations
Cancellations will be accepted up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled sail with a full refund. In the event of uncertainties related to weather conditions, it is advisable to confirm your sail the day of the event. Food and Beverages
Beverages and light snacks are sold onboard during public sails. You may bring a bag lunch as long as everything is packed in disposable containers. No glass or coolers, please.

What to Wear
Even in the summer, the sea air can be chilly. If it's a good sailing day, also expect some wind! It is advisable to bring warm clothing and/or a windbreaker. Wear comfortable non-skid shoes. You may also wish to bring sunblock, sunglasses and a hat. Chairs and baby strollers are not permitted on board.
