Come aboard the Kalmar Nyckel and leave your cares on shore. Invite your guests to mingle and explore the main deck and ascend the stairs to the quarter deck for a view of the whole ship while they enjoy the sights and sounds of the waterfront. Your guests may arrive and depart at their leisure since the ship remains stationary at the dock.

• Dockside events may include 90 guests maximum on the ship (including catering/entertainment).
  
• A crew member can be scheduled to give a history talk.
  
• Add up to 3 musicians to enhance your event.
  

Catering

Choose your own caterer or bring prepared food trays and snacks onboard for your guests. A list of suggested vendors and contractors is available.

The ship has space for both a small bar/drink service and for trays of food (finger foods and cold dishes recommended).  Flowers and a special company or celebratory banner will gladly be accommodated. We request that hosts or their caterers manage set up, ice, coolers, serving, and clean up.

Kalmar Nyckel merchandise can be made available with advance notice (including ball caps and t-shirts). A small gift shop can be set up for your guests to purchase souvenirs.

You may also add a pre- or post-event meal in the Copeland Maritime Center

Private Dockside Rates

The ship is available for private events from mid-April through October except during out-of-state voyages. We will do our best to accommodate your dates. We offer private sails and events in other ports of call when possible.

Private dockside events last 2 hours, can accommodate up to 90 guests, and are available at two locations in Delaware as well as out-of-state:

• Wilmington, DE at the Copeland Maritime Center:  $2,100 (additional hour @$700)
  
• Historic New Castle Pier (limited availability): $2,900 (additional hour @1,400)
• Out-of-state Private Dockside event, 2 hours: $3,500 (additional hour @$1,200)
